Spring Blood Donation Drive at YouNick
Blood is a life-giving substance that remains one of the most precious gifts we can give to others. Every day, thousands of people around the world struggle with illnesses, accidents, or surgeries, the outcomes of which largely depend on the availability of a sufficient amount of blood. Therefore, donating blood is one of the most altruistic actions we can take!
Did you know that a single blood donation can save up to three lives?
That’s why we invite you to participate in our special blood drive, which will take place on May 9 at YouNick. It’s a great opportunity to do something good for others and support our local community. Your blood is the most valuable medicine that cannot be manufactured!
How to Participate?
Date: May 9, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Conference Room YouNick, Office Building No. 3
- Reserve Your Time: Plan your day well and don’t rush anywhere; the blood donation process may take about an hour, and as always, the HDK PCK "Błękitna Kropelka" Club at the Suchy Las Community Office will ensure a wonderful atmosphere during the drive.
- Prepare Accordingly: Remember to stay well-hydrated before donating blood. Eat a light meal and try to get a good night's sleep the night before the drive.
- Arrive at the Scheduled Time: Show up at the designated time with an identification document.
- Donate Blood in Comfortable Conditions: Registration, acceptance of potential donors, and qualification will take place on-site in the YouNick Conference Center.

How to Prepare for Blood Donation?
If you’re wondering whether you can donate blood, here are some simple tips to help you prepare:

Hydration
It is important to be well-hydrated before donating blood. Drink plenty of water for several days leading up to the donation.

Meal
Eat a meal before donating blood, preferably about an hour prior. Avoid fatty and heavy foods.

Sleep
Make sure to get a good night's sleep the night before the donation. Proper rest will contribute to your well-being.

Limit
Try to limit smoking and avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours before the donation. Also, do not come after using any mood-altering substances!
We invite and encourage you to donate blood in person on May 9 at YouNick Technology Park from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the comfortable surroundings of the YouNick Conference Center!
Together, we can achieve great things and give a chance for a new life to those in need. All collected blood will go to the Blood Bank of the Regional Blood Donation and Hemotherapy Center in Poznań to save lives and health. Join us and be a part of this noble initiative.

Last Thursday, despite the rainy weather, we successfully conducted another on-site blood donation campaign at YouNick. Once again, our conference rooms were transformed into a comfortable space adapted for medical staff and all blood donors, who could conveniently share what is most precious – their own blood.
